Kailyn’s Headshots for Medical School Applications

Kailyn is applying for Medical School! We went to the same high school & also both attended Western Michigan University together. She reached out requesting professional headshots to use for her applications for medical schools. We booked time at Love; Creative Studios in Grand Rapids for this project. The studio was set up for Christmas at the time, though there are several paper rolls that we were able to add-on for a backdrop. The goal was to get one solid photo that she loved and captured her essence in a professional, yet approachable way. I think we crushed it!

The studio happens to be pet friendly, so when she asked if she could bring her puppy, I said HECK YEAH. Ryarson had so much fun exploring the studio while mom got her photos taken. We had enough time to do a quick outfit change and get a couple of fun festive photos of the two on one of the Christmas sets. So freaking cute.

I don’t typically do professional headshots but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this quick little session. I am also thrilled that Kailyn asked me to be her photographer for her August 2026 wedding at Caberfae Peaks, which happens to be where I got married! Read about my experience at Caberfae here.
