Family Session at Ottawa Sands County Park

Occasionally I’ll do a model call if there’s something specific I want to create. For this model call, I was open to really any life event that needed to be captured. Jennifer and Craig welcomed Maximus into the world just 6 months ago and wanted family photos with him being the star of the show.

We originally planned on going to Hoffmaster State Park for our session, but found that the main beach access had closed for construction. We pivoted and chose Ottawa Sands, which had just reopened after undergoing some habitat restorations and improvements. This was such a happy accident; the park’s beauty is insane. We were blessed with blue skies and golden hour with stunning fall colors.

A couple of focal points for me creatively during this session were tight shots showing off details like baby hands and catching golden light and sun flares. I’m so happy with the way these images came out and my creative energy feels renewed.
